Vincent F. Bishop is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member of Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge but originally from Tsisqan Lodge.
As a youth, Vince held several positions in both the chapter and lodge. As an adult, Vince has previously served as Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Venturing crew advisor, mate in Sea Scout ship, National Jamboree Scoutmaster, district chairman, and council vice president. He has also served at the area level in the Western Region on the training committee and NCAP’s long-term and short-term camp assessment committee. Vince has served on staff for several National Jamborees and NOACs including on museum and ARC committees. Vince aslo served on the 2008 ArrowCorps 5 staff at the Shasta-Trinity project. He has served on various community committees including the city budget committee, city senior services committee, school board, United Way and CPA chapter committees. He has been involved with the section since the early 1970’s, becoming section adviser in 2018.
Vince is a District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver, Founder’s Award, James E. West Fellow and OA Legacy Fellow recipient.
Vince currently works as head CPA at the Oregon Department of Energy. Vince has two children; Matt, also an Eagle Scout and Brotherhood member, and daughter Cindy, and partner Mrs. S. (Robin Stoeckler).
In his free time, Vince enjoys reading and watching SciFi.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
“I collect Lion Service Club pins from other states.”
What are some of your personal goals?
“Help guide our youth leaders to do the best that they can.”
What do you hope to accomplish in your position this year?
“To keep our section functional during COVID-19”
What is your favorite Scouting memory?
“When I got to meet our founder in 1973 at NOAC in a private meeting with the two of them and no one else in the room.”
